Building the World of Sons of God – The Eternal Watchers

Merging Biblical Truth, Historical Events, and Speculative Christian Fiction

When I set out to create Sons of God – The Eternal Watchers, my goal was more than just storytelling. I wanted to craft a universe deeply rooted in Christian principles, drawing from biblical history, prophecy, and theology, while also embracing the imaginative possibilities of speculative fiction. The result is a world that intertwines divine truth with creative storytelling, offering a theologically rich yet thrilling narrative that explores the cosmic battle between light and darkness.

The Foundation: Biblical and Historical Roots

At the core of my worldbuilding lies Scripture and historical events, both of which serve as anchors for the speculative elements of the story. Rather than creating an entirely fictional theology or mythology, I chose to build upon real biblical accounts and expand them into a narrative that remains faithful to Christian doctrine while exploring the unseen supernatural realm.

The Watchers and the Angelic War

My universe takes inspiration from Daniel 4:13,17 (NASB), which speaks of the Watchers, and from the Book of Enoch, which expands on their role. These beings are not merely passive observers but active participants in the cosmic struggle, influencing human history in profound ways.

  • The Rebellion of the Watchers – Genesis 6:1-4 (NASB) provides the foundation for the story of the 200 rebellious Watchers who descended to Earth, took human wives, and gave birth to the Nephilim. In my speculative take, this rebellion had far-reaching consequences that continue into the present and future, setting the stage for the battle between the Sons of God and the Fallen.

  • The Influence of the Fallen on Human Civilization – Throughout history, empires have risen and fallen, and behind the scenes, unseen forces have waged war. In Sons of God, the Fallen Watchers manipulate events, working through rulers, governments, and secret societies to shape civilization. Figures like Lilith, who serves as an instrument of power behind world governments, exemplify how demonic forces influence earthly affairs (Ephesians 6:12).

  • The Coming of the Anti-Christ and a One-World System – Revelation 13 (NASB) speaks of the Beast controlling world commerce, governance, and spiritual deception. In my world, these prophetic warnings manifest through the rise of PaxToken and BeastNet, a digital economic system designed to enslave humanity under the guise of utopia.

The Book of Enoch: Lost Knowledge and an Ancient Christian Tradition

A significant influence on Sons of God – The Eternal Watchers is the Book of Enoch, an ancient Jewish text widely read during the Second Temple period and preserved in the canon of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, the oldest continuous Christian community outside the Holy Land.

The Ethiopian Christian Community and the Book of Enoch

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, which traces its origins to the Ethiopian eunuch’s conversion in Acts 8:26-40 (NASB), has preserved the Book of Enoch as part of its scriptural canon. Unlike Western Christianity, which largely removed Enoch from its biblical corpus, the Ethiopian Church has maintained it as an inspired and authoritative text.

How Enoch Shapes the Lore of Sons of God

  • The Watchers and Their Rebellion – 1 Enoch 6-16 details the fall of 200 Watchers, led by Samyaza, who corrupted humanity. This text directly inspired the backstory of the Fallen Watchers in my universe, shaping their motivations and their catastrophic impact on early human civilization.

  • The Judgment of the Watchers – Enoch states that the rebellious Watchers were imprisoned in the abyss until the final judgment. This aligns with Jude 1:6 (NASB):
“And angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day.”
In Sons of God, these fallen beings continue to influence the world through their earthly agents while awaiting their final release.

  • The Nephilim and Their Legacy – 1 Enoch 7 describes the Nephilim, hybrid offspring of the Watchers, as giants who became a plague upon the earth. This expands on Genesis 6:4 (NASB):
“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them.”
In my speculative expansion, remnants of their influence persist, as secret bloodlines and organizations seek to restore the dominion of the Fallen.

Tartarus: A Realm Beyond Our Plane of Existence

While much of my world operates within physical space, Tartarus exists outside our observable universe, accessible only through specific space-time coordinates. This concept is drawn from 2 Peter 2:4 (NASB):
"For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, held for judgment;"

Here, the word translated as hell is Tartarus, a distinct realm from Sheol or Gehenna. It is described as a prison for the most wicked of fallen beings, an extra-dimensional abyss where the rebellious Watchers are bound.

  • Tartarus is Not of This World – Unlike hell as commonly understood, Tartarus is outside our plane of existence. In my world, it can only be accessed through very specific space-time coordinates, hidden beyond normal perception.

  • The Imprisoned Watchers Await Release – Revelation 9:1-2 (NASB) speaks of a time when a fallen star (Satan) will open the abyss, releasing bound spirits. This event aligns with the final conflict in Sons of God, where the Fallen Watchers seek their liberation.

Speculative Christian Fiction: Faith Meets Imagination

Unlike traditional science fiction or fantasy, my approach does not create a new belief system but expands on biblical truth through a speculative lens.

  • Station Orion and Cloaking Technology – Unlike Tartarus, Station Orion exists within real space but is cloaked, using advanced Guardian technology. This maintains biblical consistency while integrating futuristic elements.

  • Technology and the Supernatural – Sons of God blends divine power with technology, reflecting the biblical principle that God’s wisdom is beyond human understanding (Isaiah 55:9).

  • The Role of Free Will in Cosmic Conflict – Humanity is not passive in this war. Ephesians 6:12 (NASB) reminds us:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Christian Principles as the Narrative Core

At the heart of Sons of God is a commitment to biblical truth.

  • Good and Evil Are Not Ambiguous – Unlike secular fiction, Sons of God affirms good and evil as real forces.
  • The Victory of the Creator Is Certain – Revelation 19:11-16 (NASB) assures us of Christ’s ultimate triumph.
  • Redemption and Transformation – Romans 8:1 (NASB) declares:
  • “Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

The Lost Civilizations: A Speculative Exploration

The following is purely speculative fiction, inspired by biblical themes, historical mysteries, and theological possibilities. It is not canon, nor does it represent established Christian doctrine. Instead, it serves as a creative exploration of what might have been, using speculative Christian fiction as a lens to imagine how God could have preserved uncorrupted civilizations before the Great Flood.

The Great Departure: Civilizations That Vanished Before the Flood

The Great Flood, described in Genesis 6-9, was a divine act of judgment upon a world corrupted by the Fallen Watchers and their offspring, the Nephilim. According to Scripture, humanity had descended into violence and depravity (Genesis 6:11-12, NASB):

"Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth."

While the majority of mankind had fallen into wickedness, could there have been righteous civilizations that resisted corruption? And if so, could some of them have escaped the coming destruction with the help of the loyal Watchers?

Ancient history is filled with accounts of mysterious civilizations that flourished, only to vanish without explanation. In this speculative narrative, some of these civilizations did not perish, but instead left Earth before the Flood, guided by divine intervention to new homes among the stars.

Atlantis: The Civilization That Departed

The legend of Atlantis, first recorded by the Greek philosopher Plato, tells of a great and advanced civilization that was lost in a single day and night. Many have speculated on its location, but what if Atlantis was not destroyed—but instead left Earth altogether?

  • In this speculative interpretation, Atlantis was one of the last righteous civilizations, resisting the corruption of the Nephilim and the Fallen Watchers.
  • As the world spiraled into chaos, faithful Watchers guided the Atlanteans away, ensuring their survival before the floodwaters consumed the earth.
  • Rather than sinking beneath the ocean, Atlantis relocated—its people departing for a distant world where they could continue their civilization free from the influence of evil.
Avalon – The New Home of Atlantis
  • Avalon became a stronghold of knowledge and faith, a place where the Creator’s design for humanity could flourish.
  • The descendants of Atlantis became the Guardians, sworn to protect humanity and ensure that the mistakes of the past were never repeated.
  • The Watchers who guided them remained as mentors and protectors, ensuring that Avalon would stand as a fortress against the Fallen’s influence.

Their destination? A new home among the stars—Avalon.

The Atlanteans, led by loyal Watchers, found refuge on Avalon, a planet where they could live in righteousness without fear of corruption.

Far from forgotten, the Guardians of Avalon continue to watch over Earth, preparing for the day when they must intervene once more.

Other Lost Civilizations That May Have Escaped

Atlantis is not the only civilization that appears to have disappeared without a trace. Across the world, ancient cultures with knowledge far beyond their time left behind ruins, artifacts, and mysteries that suggest they may have also departed before the Flood.

The Nazca – A Civilization That Left Signs in the Desert

Deep in the Peruvian desert, the Nazca Lines remain one of the greatest archaeological enigmas. Massive geoglyphs, only visible from the air, stretch across the landscape, depicting animals, humanoid figures, and geometric patterns.

Could the Nazca civilization have been among those who departed Earth?

  • Their intricate designs, visible only from the sky, could have been messages or landing markers, guiding celestial vessels.
  • Their disappearance from history could indicate that they were led away, rather than destroyed, escaping before the Flood.
  • Like Atlantis, they may have found refuge in the stars, preserving their knowledge and culture far beyond Earth.

The Indus Valley Civilization – The Forgotten Kingdom

One of the world’s oldest civilizations, the Indus Valley Civilization (modern-day India and Pakistan) mysteriously collapsed around 2100 BC, with its cities abandoned and its people vanishing from history.

  • Unlike other civilizations of the ancient world, the Indus people had advanced knowledge of urban planning, irrigation, and engineering, suggesting wisdom beyond their time.
  • No signs of war or destruction have been found—could they have simply left?
  • In this speculative narrative, the faithful among them may have been guided away before the Flood, taking their knowledge with them to a new home beyond Earth.

Did They Have Flight Technology?

The descriptions of Vimanas in ancient texts include details that seem eerily similar to advanced aircraft or spacecraft. Could these be historical accounts of real pre-Flood technology, passed down and mythologized over time?

  • Some texts describe Vimanas as chariots with wings, capable of flying at great speeds, emitting beams of light, and moving between worlds.
  • Like Atlantis, the Indus people may have fled Earth, using knowledge far beyond what was known to the rest of the world.

The Kingdom of Kush – Africa’s Lost Civilization

The Kingdom of Kush, a great African civilization, rivaled the power of Egypt but mysteriously declined. Some ancient texts speak of a golden land to the south, where a righteous people once lived but vanished without a trace.

  • The Kushites were known for their wisdom, strength, and deep spiritual traditions.
  • Could they have been among those led away before the world fell into ruin?
  • If so, their legacy may live on beyond the stars, waiting for the time when they might return.

Where Did They Go?

The civilizations that departed before the Flood did not simply vanish; they found refuge on new worlds. Each of these planets became a new home, free from the corruption of the Fallen:

  • Elysium IV – A paradise world where wisdom and learning were preserved, ensuring that the knowledge of God’s creation would not be lost.
  • Nova Terra – A thriving center of faith and culture, where righteous rulers ensured that justice and order reflected divine law.
  • Serenity Alpha – A world of contemplation and spiritual discipline, where the faithful could seek deeper communion with the Creator, far removed from the conflicts of the galaxy.

These civilizations did not simply disappear—they were preserved, waiting for the day when they would be called upon again in the war between good and evil.

The Flood Was Not the End—It Was a New Beginning

The Flood was not merely a punishment; it was a reset—a chance for humanity to begin anew, cleansed of the corruption of the Fallen. While Noah and his descendants carried on the human race on Earth, those who left before the waters came continued their journey in the stars.

Their survival was not through their own power, but through the mercy of the Creator and the guidance of the faithful Watchers who remained true to their mission. These civilizations stand as a reminder that righteousness is never truly wiped out—that even in the darkest of times, the Most High preserves a remnant who will carry on His truth.

Though hidden, these lost civilizations have not forgotten Earth. And in the unfolding war between the Sons of Godand the Fallen, they will return when they are needed most.

Again, this is purely speculative fiction and not established doctrine, but rather a creative exploration of possibilities within a biblical and historical framework.

A Universe Built on Truth, Expanded by Imagination

Through faith, history, and imagination, I have built a universe that remains true to Christian principles while embracing speculative fiction.

The war is not over, but the victory belongs to the Most High.
